If the bustle of the city is too much for me, I take the scooter and flee in nature for a relaxing walk. Last year when I enjoyed a ride back from the moors in Kalmthout, I saw a sign: "El Passo, bar". Why not, I thought, and put my scooter besides the impressive bike row.I stepped inside through two poorly hinged doors and positioned my at the bar. I ordered a beer that was a brutally smacked in front of me by the surly gezzer behind the bar. Sipping my glass, I peeped through the saloon. My eye fell on a plaque behind the counter "“Why don’t cowgirls come with instructions?" It made me laugh and with a blissful sense of freedom I drove back to town, the phrase constantly running through my mind. I felt a real "city cowgirl"! All the best of nature in the city!
The barman at El Passo? He still regrets he only looked in my "eyes"...:-)
